"This development forms the first phase of a comprehensive redevelopment scheme planned for the harbour area of the town. The architects have succeeded in reflecting the atmosphere, character and scale of the area without resorting to pastiche. The development surrounds a working harbour and the richness of form appropriate to this lively setting is complimented and controlled by a strictly limited range of colour and materials. This result is robust and unsentimental, and the scheme sets a standard for the later phases of the regeneration of the harbour area."
